Taglia Corti - the festival of short movies and music videos under 35 organised by RadioInCorso.it, the web radio of the University of Trieste - reached its sixth edition. It was born to support music and cinema, creating a space where emerging young talents can find an occasion to discuss. As always, director from all over Italy and Europe (prom countries such as Romania, Norway, Germany, Austria, Spain and France) will be at the event.
The final night is conceived as a true show full of Vitamin Cinema. It will be on Tuesday, May 5th from 8:15 p.m., in the already familiar location of the Teatro Miela in Trieste. During the night you will attend the screening of the twenty finalist works and the award ceremony of all three categories: Professional Short Movie, Beginners Short Movie and Music Videos. Enrico Matzeu and Marta Zannoner will animate the night with their ironic attitude. Umberto Gaudino, multi-instrumentalist from Turin, will make a precious appearance. He recently curated the soundtrack for many short movies and commercials. He also provided the musical accompaniment for the final night of this sixth edition of Taglia Corti.
For this year, our special guest will be Ruggero dei Timidi, an actual web talent and now television star. He has more than 5 million views on his YouTube channel, more than 30 thousand followers and 50 thousand fans on Facebook. Awkward crooner and unusual cross between Elio (from Elio e le Storie Tese) and Mal from the Primitives, he will be at Taglia Corti to promote his first album Frutto Proibito, which he is currently touring around Italy. This will also be a great occasion to see his music video of his last single, directed by Il Terzo Segreto di Satira.
There are two external juries that will establish the winners for the final awards (450 € for Professionals, 500 for Beginners and 550 for Music Videos). One jury will judge the short movies and it is composed of Nicoletta Romeo, planning manager Trieste Film Festival, Ivan Gregolet, director of the esteemed documentary Dancing with Maria, and of Gianmaria Martini, actor from Trieste, who recently made an appearance in 1992, the Sky tv series. He also played in Diaz, Romanzo di una Strage, Vinodentro and the tv series I Cesaroni. The second jury will judge the music videos and it is composed of speaker and director Mario Mirasola, Agnese Ermacora, radio deejay, and Tomas Marcuzzi (aka Uolli), videomaker. An additional jury will nominate the Best Regional Short Movie, an award offered by BCC Staranzano and Villesse, composed of Andrea Passado, founder of Oltreuomo.com, Michela Pascolo, who works in film distribution and Lorenzo Maschietto (video maker).
From 4 p.m. at Teatro Miela, in addition to the night screening, you will be able to see the works in the Animation category and from 5 p.m. the Out Of Contest works, including short movies and music videos from all over the world in the original version with English and Italian subtitles.
